Steve kaplan
Steve Kaplan can honestly say that he has spent his entire life in the insurance industry. Immediately after graduating Cornell University, Steve entered the insurance industry as an Underwriter at AIG. Steve answered directly to Brian Dupperault on mega accounts like the Stone and Webster program. During his years at AIG, Steve also completed his MBA from Baruch College, CUNY. Shortly after leaving AIG, Steve met his “Rain-Make Partner” Angel F. Rivera and started Rivera and Kaplan, Inc.
As an independent privately owned brokerage, Steve prides himself on always giving the 100% most honest feedback on each and every placement or possible placement regardless of how it might impact revenue to his firm.

Nuno Gomes
Nuno Gomes has spent most of his life working as a Civil Engineer.
An engineering background can be applied in many disciplines, insurance being
one of them. He thus joined Rivera & Kaplan, Inc., as broker. The New York City
construction boom places Nuno, who is a Brooklyn resident, in an ideal position.
His professional experience is particularly relevant when dealing with construction, real estate and flood insurance. Safety and loss control in the construction industry are paramount. His knowledge relating to Occupational Health and Safety is particularly important in advising clients on how to improve their safety, reduce the risk of accident and thus keep premiums at an acceptable level.
Nuno has a Bachelors degree along with a Masters degree in Civil Engineering. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers. Besides that he has also completed and obtained various diplomas and certifications in Construction Management and Occupational Health and Safety.
